DIY Lemon Face Cleanser Recipes

DIY Lemon Face Wash
Combine the following ingredients in a jar:
1. 120 ml of unscented liquid soap base (you will find various options on Amazon)
2. 1/4 cup of fresh lemon juice (remove the seeds)
3. 1 tsp. of Grapeseed oil or Vitamin E Oil or a few drops of any essential oil
4. 1/4 cup distilled water
Shake the container well to mix the ingredients. Store in the refrigerator and use as and when required. It will last for around 1.5 months. Can also be used as a body wash.
Note: In case the soap curdles a bit, it will settle down in sometime.
DIY Lemon + Glycerin & Honey Face Wash
In an empty dispenser bottle, combine the following ingredients:
1. 2 tablespoons of unscented liquid soap base
2. 1/2 cup of cosmetic glycerin
3. 2 tablespoons of honey
4. Few drops of lemon essential oil
Wet your face & neck, and apply an adequate quantity of this cleanser in circular upward movements for 30 seconds. Wash off with warm water. This cleanser has a decent shelf life when stored at room temperature.
Glycerin has anti-ageing and moisturizing properties, which delay the development of wrinkles and fine lines. Honey has the ability to effectively moisturize the skin as well as reach fight bacteria that causes acne. Lemon essential oil is an effective skin brightener and toner, which evens out the skin tone and makes it bright when used regularly.
DIY Lemon Exfoliator/Face Scrub
Prep your face by massaging lightly with olive oil or any other face oil (grapseed oil, jojoba oil, almond oil, etc.). This will prevent the sugar used in this recipe from causing any damage to your face.
In a bowl, mix the juice of 1/2 a lemon (strain to remove seeds & pulp), 1/2 teaspoon honey, and 1/2 teaspoon of sugar. Use this mixture to gently massage your face, focusing on your nose, forehead, & chin areas, which are prone to blackheads and open pores. Leave it on for 5 minutes. In case your skin is sensitive, leave it on for 3 minutes. Wash off with room-temperature water and pat dry.
DIY Lemon & Rose Water Face Cleanser
In a 100 ml bottle, mix 1:1 proportion of rose water and freshly squeezed lemon juice. Strain the lemon juice to remove the pulp and seeds. Shake the bottle well and store this mixture in the refrigerator. While using, take some of this mixture on a cotton ball and wipe your face and neck regions with it in gentle circular upward movements. Rinse your face with water.
Rose water is an excellent skin toner that shrinks the pores of your skin and prevents oil buildup. It is also a great skin softener. Lemon cleanses the skin without disturbing its nature alkaline mantle. It also acts as a natural bleach and its regular usage makes skin fairer.
Lemon & Yogurt Face Cleanser
In a bowl, mix 2 teaspoons of yogurt (dahi), 1 teaspoon of honey, and a squeeze of lemon juice. Combine the ingredients together and apply evenly on your face & neck. Wash off after 10 minutes.
Yogurt is an ideal natural cleanser that contains lactic acid & protein, which help soften and rejuvenate the skin. The regular application of lactic acid removes dead skin cells and protein hydrates, reduces the appearance of fine lines & wrinkles, and tightens the skin pores. Honey is a wonderful natural moisturizer, and lemon is an effective natural cleanser & bleaching agent.
