Get Rid of Facial Hair Naturally
Posted by TEAM BARVA
The presence of facial hair has always caused great embarrassment for women. It has also been linked to low self esteem. It starts developing in young girls a little before the onset of puberty. Unlike hair on other parts of a woman's body, facial hair is very light, soft, and thin. However, in case of women suffering from hormonal imbalances or disorders such as PCOD, PCOS, etc., facial hair growth can be quite thick and visible.
In this article, we will explore ways to get rid of facial hair naturally. Here are some very easy-to-implement home remedies to tackle this issue:
1) Egg White Mask
Egg whites are full of protein, which boosts the collagen in your skin. Moreover, although egg white sticks tightly to facial hair, it is very gentle on the skin and doesn't pull the skin. Along with gentle hair removal, egg white also has anti-ageing properties. Hence, it is considered to be one of the best remedies to get rid of facial hair naturally.
In a bowl mix the white of one egg, 1 tbsp. of sugar, and 1 tbsp. of cornstarch. Mix all the ingredients well and apply it on the affected areas of your face. Leave this mask on for 20 minutes. Let it dry very well. Once dry, gently peel it off in the opposite direction of hair growth. Use this mask not more than twice a week. Follow up with a gentle moisturizer/face cream.
2) Besan (chickpea flour) Mask
This is traditional India remedy that is popular in most Indian households. Our grandmothers used to use this as a body pack for small children to discourage the growth of body hair, and we have already seen how effectively it works!
In a bowl, mix 4 tbsp. of besan with 1 tsp. of turmeric powder (preferably ambe haldi as it is specifically used for hair removal), 1 tsp. of fresh cream, and enough milk to form a smooth paste. Apply all over the face and leave it on till it dries completely. Once it is dry, rub it gently in the opposite direction of hair growth. It won't remove all the hair right away, but it weakens the hair roots and hampers the ability of the hair to grow back. Regular use of this remedy can get rid of unwanted hair permanently, especially when used on children.
3) Rice Flour Mask
In a bowl, combine 2 tbsp. of rice flour, 2 tsp. of turmeric powder (preferably ambe haldi as mentioned earlier), and enough milk to form a smooth but thick paste. Apply this mixture on the parts of your face where there is hair growth. Wash off after 30 minutes with warm water using circular upward movements.
4) Honey Lemon Mask
This mask is a great replacement to your chemical bleaching routine. Melted sugar sticks very well to the hair, and only to the hair, not to the skin. This aids in effective hair removal without pulling the skin. Also, lemon is a natural skin bleaching agent. In a thick bottom vessel, heat together 2 tbsp. of sugar, 2 tsp. of lemon juice, and 10 tsp. of water. Boil this mixture only till the sugar dissolves. It need not reach a very high temperature. Set aside to cool. Once cool, apply this mixture thickly on facial hair and let it dry completely for 20 minutes. When it dries, you can pull this mask off in the opposite direction of hair growth. Wash off the remains with cold water. Follow this routine thrice a week for very effective results.
5) Corn Flour & Egg Mask
Mix one egg, 1 tsp. of corn flower, and 2 tsp. of sugar in a bowl to form a thick paste. Apply it on areas of the face where there is hair. Once dry, you can peel it off in the opposite direction of hair growth. For best results, use this mask thrice a week.
Though most of the remedies above won't give you immediate results like threading or waxing, their regular use will result in a considerable reduction in facial hair as they weaken its roots. So say no to chemical treatments. Get rid of facial hair naturally. It is is very important for long-term skin health.
